Confidence

Confidence

Or, will I like them?

Of course we want people to like us. We are designed for community. But everyone is not going to like us. And everyone is not going to be good for us.

I’m thankful for my friends, for their love and support, for being able to share tears and laughter. But I know I can be okay alone, because we are never really alone. There’s always God, or whatever you want to call that divine power who loves us no matter what. And there are dogs, those divinely created experts in unconditional love.

Then there are cats. Cats have their own special kind of confidence. Some of them are experts.

Just Kidding

“Each time I shut my computer down, I throw my head back in maniacal laughter and scream “Fool! I was only using you!”                                                                – Bridger Winegar

(Just kidding. I appreciate my computer. I really do.)

I haven’t posted on “Loving Me, Too,” lately because I was trying to change my address here to something anonymous, but there were technical difficulties. In the process, I’ve decided I need to focus most of my time on my primary blog, “Anything is Possible,” where I write as joannaoftheforest. (Don’t tell anybody about my secret identity!)

I’ll still post here some because I’ve accumulated fifty drafts!

Don’t Forget Your Brain

“Follow your heart, but take your brain with you.”

You can get in a lot of trouble following your heart around without your brain. I lost my brain for a year during the rebound from hell. Thank God, I found it before it was too late. Now, when I lose my brain, it’s only for a few minutes at a time. My heart reminds me to go find it.

This is Why I Take Notes

“My memory’s not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory’s not as sharp as it used to be.

(Okay, that’s two lines. But I forgot the first one. Either that, or I’m a rule breaker and not as much of a people pleaser as used to be, so I must be making progress! )

Un-cluttering

1linerwedsbadgewes

“As I unclutter my life,
I free myself to answer
the callings of my soul.”

– Dr Wayne Dyer

I  found this quote at Purple Rays

I was making progress at un-cluttering my home. Then, my soulmate found me again and we combined households. Still, it’s worth the extra stuff to have him around – more than ever since my father died. Now, I get to go through my father’s clutter. Still, it’s worth it for my father to be with the love of his life again and all the memories I will treasure.

I will take this ones step at a time, one pile of papers at a time. It will be okay.
